Common information aboutFor the first time the Savoy Hotel has opened its doors on March 30th, 1913. The Hotel has been raised on demand of the Salamander Fire Insurance Company, which has redeemed the princess Argamakova-Turkestanova’s estate at the corner of Rozhdestvenka and Pushechnaya Streets. Since then a salamander became a Hotel’s symbol and a talisman. Argamakovs hereditary aristocratic family was known long before 18-th century as strong and devoted supporters of the Russian throne and was related to a well-known Russian playwright Denis Fonvizin.
Lately the hotel had the honor to welcome a plenty of world celebrities: outstanding tenors Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras, world-famous singers Lucia Aliberti, Montserrat Caballé and Dmitry Khvorostovsky, movie stars Richard Gere and Jane Fonda, the owner of the largest TV-channels Ted Turner, Finnish ex-President Marti Ahti Saari, ex-United Nations High Commissioner Sadako Ogata, well-known sculptor Ernst Neizvestny, pop-singer Patricia Kaas, top-model Cindy Crawford and many others. A marble fountain, hand painted ceiling beautifully decorated with gilded mirrors and elegant chandeliers create an elegant and luxurious ambiance for wedding celebrations, elegant black-tie evenings or corporate affairs as well as a romantic candle-lit dinner for two. The Savoy Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, a’ la carte lunch and dinner. Live music. Seasonal and theme menus available like Hunter Nook or Russian Oven.
The Savoy Restaurant also features the separate banqueting hall with a wood burning fireplace and lovely large windows. This beautiful room is ideal for private dinners or wedding celebrations up to 40 guests.
